BIM I - Semester A

Business Information Management I - Semester A prepares students to apply personal, interpersonal, and technology skills in other content areas, the workplace, and/or post‐secondary education. This course integrates content areas such as professionalism, workplace guidelines, information communication technology, as well as planning, and management with real-world projects using software available in today’s workplace. 
 
The applications students will use in this BIM I course include word processing, multimedia presentations, internet research, and a look at emerging technologies. In addition, students will learn about, plan for, and design a proposal for an organization seeking to update and improve their current information communication technology and network plan. Students will evaluate and propose hardware requirements, software options, and network infrastructure and design.  

BIM I - Semester B

Business Information Management I - Semester B prepares students to apply personal, interpersonal, and technology skills in other content areas, the workplace, and/or post‐secondary education. The applications students will use in this course include word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications, as well as online productivity applications with an emphasis on sharing and collaboration.
 
The underlying theme of this semester and the goal of most assignments revolves around preparing for employment, including the development of resume and interview documents, as well as creating and organizing documents and proposals based on real-world scenarios. Throughout the course and with an emphasis on project-based learning, students will be expected to create, edit, and evaluate business-related documents, while learning various techniques that will help them develop more efficient and effective communication and critical thinking skills.
